What is cars rated

It is too long, too loud, and too fast One can argue that there are positive messages that kids can learn from but I think there are hundreds of other movies with much clearer and more positive messages than this one.

My son has seen it twice and asks every so often to watch it again but so far we've been able to steer him towards more low-key choices. Adult Written by Rarityfan July 31, The long way home If one name says it all that is merchandise, and a very long running time if you include previews and more. Also, turn the speakers up the max.

Some violence, and wut car romance? On Amazon and Youtube you can pick a very long row of Pixar knock off and parodies of Cars and Planes. Helped me decide 1. Read my mind 1. Adult Written by concernedparenzzz July 2, Great movie - esp. It is fun, well crafted, plenty of good messages - may need a little parental supervision to explain the 3 or 4 not so sweet scenes Worth buying and keeping in your library so that your kid can watch time and time again. A modern classic.

This title contains: Educational Value. Positive Messages. Not for younger kids! He'd been bugging me to see it for a while because ALL of the kids he's been on playdates with seem to have a full collection of Cars toys, and most of the little boys at preschool have Cars backpacks and lunchboxes, too. It was too loud, fast-paced and chaotic with way too many in-jokes that went right over his head. He didn't understand any of the 'fantasy' sequences where Lightning McQueen is dreaming about being famous he thought they were really happening , he didn't understand why some of the characters were so mean, he didn't understand why Lightning McQueen was paving the road or why he kept trying to get out of doing his job Honestly, I think all he really understood was that there was some racing and he thought Mater was funny.

That's it. I still think it's a smart, funny, well-made movie. I just think it's inappropriate for kids under the age of six or so. What really bugs me, though, is all the ridiculous merchandising surrounding the movie.

And it's marketed to really young kids, who are way too young to watch the movie itself. Anyway, to make a long story short: despite the fact that Cars toys and clothes are made for younger kids, I feel like the movie is more appropriate for ages 6 and up.

We definitely won't be watching it again in our household until my kids are much older. This title contains: Consumerism. Helped me decide. Had useful details. Parent of a 5-year-old Written by Hal H July 24, Let you kid get older first For those that care about story quality, this is light, light entertainment, and in fact, that is a problem in a way. When a story gets too light, it becomes somewhat misleading, in a bigger way, about life.

Life is not like a race -- it is a deep error to think it is. Of course, the movie has redeeming qualities. Compare to cartoons where winning a race is more silly, which is yet another story technique to say racing isn't a value in itself.

I've emphasized the weaknesses here, and not the strengths. See, it's fine to see a movie like this after you are 6. You didn't really miss anything. Adult Written by February 4, Really Disappointing i really dislike this movie.

Pixar usually makes films that are fun for the whole family, but this movie is strictly for little kids. Adult Written by guatemama July 20, Some inappropriate language and a drug reference There was a joke about somebody being "lit. I don't think something that can be interpreted as a drug reference belongs in a G rated movie.

I also don't think calling the town "Hillbilly Hell," more than once, is appropriate for small children either. At one point one character called another one an idiot. I watched the movie with my five year old, and I didn't like him hearing those things, whether he understood them or not. Otherwise, it seemed alright. But those small things made it inappropriate for a 5 year old in my opinion.

Maybe it is OK for 7 or 8 year olds, but if they would just have omitted the things i mentioned it would be fine for a 5 year old.

The story itself was pretty good, except for all of the poking fun of "hillbillies. Parent of a 2, 4, 10, and year-old Written by rmichelle85 June 14, Parent of a 2-year-old Written by daBehrs September 18, Perfect movie for my little guy Loves cars and there are really no scary scenes like in cars 2 horrid kid movie. Read my mind. Cars 1 is good! Cars 2 and 3 both sucked. I want to start off by announcing to the world that Cars 1 is the best movie in the world. It got me through the hardest time of my life.

I was sitting and watching cars 3 and I wanted to kill myself. But remembering how good cars 1 was I went to watch it again and it was one of the reasons I didn't take my life that night.

I made love to my car after watching it. Not just for kids- but kids still love it! My brother was obsessed with this when he was 6 going on 7. He made me watch it and I actually fell in love even though I was 18! Funnily enough he moved on from the phase rather quickly but I didn't. If they can get past their embarrassment at "liking a kids movie. I say this because I love analysing books and movies and picking apart what they mean. My brother not only doesn't care for all that but finds it incredibly annoying when I do it.
