What kind of people play healers

I like to do more than just face roll pure DPS. I'd often get friend requests from the healer after pugs because I was usuall the only one who ever kept an eye on them.

I don't play MOBAs because they're too full of poor sports who can't handle losing. It's nice to be sure you have a solid healer doing work, minding agro, using proper spell rotation, familiar with the use of hotkeys for target selections. Plus, I always enjoyed the fact that, as the heals, I had to turn down groups left and right.

Never a wait for me to get into the fray. Originally posted by ShadowGamerPug :. Originally posted by Maniac :. Are you kidding? Clerics are practically a religion in their own right, they've got T-shirts and everything. In vitrually any kind of RPG you will find them, players dedicated utterly to replenishing the HP of hard-charging idiots who seem determined to deplete it as quickly as possible.

I don't play cleric myself unless nobody else will, but my brother does, and I play Paladins enough to see what a challenging task this can be. Of course, noobs will always forget about the cleric, they think they do all the work. They stay that way until they manage to piss a cleric off, and no amount of praying will save them then.

I was there, at the beginning of it all not counting the alphas and betas. So, I decided to play healer for good. I play with a group of friends, so each one has their importance on the team, and mine as you can imagine, is to heal. So far so good, no problem, but the tricky part comes later.

I am the kind of person who loves to play in groups, but not always will I be with my friends, not always will I have them around to call them to play, you know? So at some point I would play alone, with no one, just me.

Which is not a problem for me, I love my own company. Just put on some loud background music and enjoy what the game has to offer, perfect! However, not everything is wonderful.

So will someone who focuses on dexterity, or even intelligence. Only… well, when healers want to do solo content, they suffer a bit. We do not have a reasonable damage, our damage is low and this is undeniable, since healer does not have any damage skill except for one called Beacon, which is not great to use.

Many times it was difficult to do some solo content, being my level or lower than my level. When I am doing some content alone, I need my damage to be able to do it more smoothly, even if it has a greater difficulty. No, I want to play as a healer, I specialize with this, I will play as this, I will help friends or other people with this. So far at level 46, it is being a bit complicated and discouraging to play alone as a healer. I will not give up playing, I am in love with the game, but there are details like this that are discouraging.

Here is my appeal to the community and the developers of the New World. And is it worth taking that risk when you could be helping out elsewhere? Another vital trait is the ability to manage people, especially those who are in it for personal glory. In that sense, teaching other players how to work together is often the biggest hurdle. If you go down prematurely then the rest of the group suffers.

Not all healers are helpless in a brawl. Rather, many Doc players operate as lone wolves, running amok even as comrades perish. While games are hardly ideal preparation for a career in medicine, the resource management skills necessary to play a healer are transferable. Her main drawback is that she can only heal one ally at once.
