When is g.i. joe coming out

Snake Eyes is a prequel film that details the origins of Snake Eyes, a trained ninja who operates with the elite G. While he is not the leader of the G. Joe team, Snake Eyes has been one of the most popular characters in the franchise, equivalent to Wolverine of the X-Men.

The movie is directed by German filmmaker Robert Schwentke, who also directed the action movie Red. The screenplay is written by Evan Spiliotopoulos, who also wrote the billion-dollar hit Beauty and the Beast and the Charlie's Angels. Though a "solo" origin movie, Snake Eyes is also functioning as a reboot of the G. Joe franchise, which was previously made up of G. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and G. After Snake Eyes , you can expect a new G. Joe movie universe, one that may or may not also inhabit a shared continuity with other Hasbro properties like Transformers, Rom the Space Knight, M.

A "sequel" to Snake Eyes is already in development. In May , The Hollywood Reporter reported the follow-up will take audiences "deeper into the world" of G. Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse, of the thriller Seberg , are in charge of writing the movie. In the original G. Upon their return stateside, Snake Eyes learns his family was killed in a car accident.

Left without a home, Storm Shadow took in Snake Eyes to Japan, where they trained together as ninjas in the Arashikage clan. The end of Snake Eyes directly sets up a sequel and leaves the door open for many other stories. But Paramount also has grander plans to expand the G. Joe movie and TV show releasing after Snake Eyes. It was revealed in May that Paramount was already developing a Snake Eyes follow-up movie.

The film was not directly described as a Snake Eyes sequel and will instead dive deeper into the G. Joe world. That said, Henry Golding is reportedly attached to return as Snake Eyes for this untitled follow-up.

Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse are said to be writing the script of this new movie after doing uncredited work on Snake Eyes. Unfortunately, Paramount has yet to announce when this new movie will be released.

Paramount is also working on another untitled G. We could get a detailed Snake Eyes origin movie, one that also ties in plenty of Storm Shadow for good measure. Or it could just focus on an already established Snake Eyes and maintain the mysterious awesomeness of the character. The question is, how much will the studio gamble on a lead character who never speaks?

Of course, plans change, as shown by the dissolution of the Hasbro Cinematic Universe. But from a Lady Jaye spinoff to a Transformers crossover, there are several shows and movies supposedly coming out featuring the Joes. The most obvious next move is a full-on G. Joe movie, and that seems to already be in the pipeline. Last year, Snake Eyes ' producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura stated that a follow-up is planned for the current movie, and that said film would be written by Seberg screenwriters Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse.

The idea for this movie is for it to build on the concepts introduced in Snake Eyes but not be an actual sequel. Joe series is The Lord of the Rings.
