Keep the info simple: Alcohol slows down the body and mind. It makes it hard to know things like when water is too deep or a car comes too close. And it gives people bad breath! Kids this age want to fit in with their friends. Teach your child the importance of thinking and acting as an individual. The teen years are a time to be a good listener and keep the lines of communication open.

Keep setting a good example. Lecturing about the facts on alcohol and using scare tactics can make teens shut down. If you have alcohol problems in your family, make sure your teen knows this could make them more likely to develop an alcohol problem. Teens want to be liked and accepted by friends. I screamed into a pillow almost daily.

And despite a few laughs and the occasional moment of pride in having taught them something, I wasn't too fond of it and merrily handed him back to his teachers with a newfound sense of respect for the profession.

But homeschooling aside, teaching is a huge and inevitable part of being a parent. They learn nearly everything from us before school starts; how to smile, walk, use a toilet, talk, jump, and dress. And even after they join a school, the teaching from home doesn't end. It never will — not really. They copy and watch everything we do, good and bad, drinking in everything they see.

This is both terrifying and wonderful, and ultimately it's an opportunity. We could teach them to be kind, inclusive, socially and environmentally conscious, challenge ideas, create, be respectful, and open to a world of experiences. Trees are already part of life for Britons, from Oaks to Conifers and many in between. So why plant more? School fields lined with poplars, the oak in the local park, picking up conkers under the horse chestnut, feeling summer arrive at the sight of blossom; trees have always been around us, and we couldn't imagine life in the UK without them.

They help us breathe by cleaning the air of carbon dioxide and providing shade on warm summer days, and in recent years, they have become an important part of tackling climate change. One topic under discussion is deforestation, which contributes enormously to climate change because it depletes forests that absorb CO2. While COP26 tries to find solutions for climate change on a global scale, there are small ways we can all personally contribute, and discussing them raises awareness and acts as a reminder.

Walking or taking a bus instead of driving our own cars, for example, reducing energy use by small things like switching off lights in unused rooms or cutting back on meat and dairy, can help. I was recently reminded of these points at an event for Muslim women and girls where climate change was discussed, and participants were encouraged to take small steps in changing their habits.

As a Muslim, I have always felt it important to do what I can to look after our planet, from not wasting water to reducing home energy use. Planting trees is an option that has become important over the years and was touched upon recently by His Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

When a girl asked how important it was to fight climate change and His Holiness replied, "very important! This is how you can fight climate change. Many different communities make up the population of this country, so it's important to raise awareness about various aspects of tackling climate change among them specifically as well as just generally talking about it. Next year, the women's auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will be celebrating years since being established.

To commemorate this and conserve our beautiful planet, the UK members have pledged to plant , trees across the UK. Women from branches across the country have been in touch with local authorities and the Woodland Trust and have begun this project. Climate change is already affecting the planet and will become a problem for our future generations, so by raising awareness, especially among the young, we can at least try to make a better world for them to inherit.

The Hangover takes the concept of a wild bachelor party between a group of best-men, including the groom-to-be, takes them to Las Vegas for a weekend of drugs, alcohol and partying, and, the next morning, when they wake up, there's a tiger in the hotel room, a baby and no trace of the best-man.
